What is your cancellation policy?
Except in the case of emergencies, I ask that you cancel no later than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Late cancellations (within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment) may incur a “late cancellation” fee.
What age ranges do you work with?
Generally, I work with anyone aged 12 and above.
Do you work with women, men, couples?
Yes, to all.
What do you do in sessions with clients?

In your session, we’ll work on various aspects of a treatment plan that I’ve created specifically for you, composed of research-based therapy modalities best-suited for your needs.

Our topics can include education about your situation, essential skill building that includes coping skills, progressive muscle relaxation, mindfulness/meditation work, journaling, and many other possibilities.

Do your clients receive assignments between sessions?

Yes. I design these to keep you focused and on track between sessions.

Because I tailor it to your specific needs, not all clients will have the same assignments.

What modalities do you use?

No single modality works well in every case or for every client/couple because you’re all unique.

I’m an eclectic therapist – I use various modalities depending on your specific needs.

Commonly, I may integrate combinations of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), or Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET).

We may also incorporate SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts) and the Gottman Relationship Checklist for couples. If we use these, each of you will complete them separately.

Is couples counseling only for those with troubled marriages/relationships?

Not at all! There is still a dark cloud that lingers over counseling – especially marriage/couples counseling.

I encourage all couples to work on their relationships and to find other couples as mentors. No matter where you are in your relationship – from a few months to 25 years or more – you can always improve your relationship, and you can benefit from help along the way.

Do you see a doctor only when you’re very ill? Perhaps in some instances, that’s true, but most of us have regular check-ups throughout our lives. The same should be true for your mental health.

What else do I need to know to make the most out of working with you?

I ask only one thing of you: be present in your sessions. What does that mean?

Be ready to engage in conversation, explore, reflect, discover/rediscover, be attentive and focused to the best of your ability.

Come in with a desire to do the work needed to make lasting and effective changes in your life.

Be willing to learn new skills, answer tough questions, and be honest – not only with me but, more importantly, with yourself.

I’m here to help you – to encourage you – to cheer for you as you make progress and discover new things about who you are and what you want to do with your life. (Yes – you may not realize it now, but you’re here for a reason – a purpose!)

My desire for you is to live life intentionally and purposefully.
